Social Activist Lisa Sonn joins us on the line for our weekly session, tonight she talks
about Giving Transformation & people a chance
i didn't grow up in a rugby family, i grew up in a time when national sport meant our
exclusion.... so my parents played local and regional badminton and we got on with it! i
too, always associated, rugby and cricket with racism..The first time i heard and saw
Rassie Erasmus my own racism prevented me giving him a chance. I thought and rolled
my eyes ;" oh gosh, another white Afrikaner that sounds like he doesn't know he is
coloured!" I switched off from rugby in that time..... lo and behold! and thankfully .... he
turned out to be like a lot of progressive white Afrikaners i call friends and who i
thought were exceptions! I apologise for being a racist dimwit and i am giving
transformation a chance under his leadership! and lead he did!!”
