In a bid to focus on athletic performance rather than the physical form of female athletes, the European Broadcasting Union and European Athletics have released an official guide for television directors and camera operators. To discuss this development, Lester Kiewit speaks to Geraldine Pillay, former sprinter and sprint coach, and Dr Alexia Smit, lecturer in film studies at the Centre for Film and Media studies at UCT.
