It has been estimated that South Africa’s GDP is 10% lower than  it could be if our children were not physically and intellectually damaged by a lack of nutritious food. Since the 1990s, the rate of child undernourishment has hovered at around 25%, and it is an issue which needs to be addressed in order to lift the economy.
