Africa Melane (in for Lester Kiewit) speaks to Tahir Osman, founder of Take Back Our Mountain, after the organisation announced that it may have to withdraw its activities from Table Mountain following a fine issued by SANParks. Osman says the fine was imposed after a hike and cultural experience involving four unemployed men from Hout Bay, despite the organisation's understanding that SANParks had been informed of the activity. He explains the community work TBOM has carried out since 2018, raises concerns about its relationship with park management and questions whether enough is being done to support community led initiatives aimed at improving safety on the mountain.
