Professor Keymanthri Moodley, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Medicine at Stellenbosch University and Founding Director of the Division of Medical Ethics and Law, speaks to Lester Kiewit about the ethical, medical and legal implications of redefining death, including whether patients who have irreversibly lost higher brain functions should still be considered alive.
