Concerns are being raised by a parent of a Sans Souci Girls’ High School learner after pupils were reportedly told they could not enter a nearby Engen service station unless accompanied by a parent. A video circulating on social media appears to show the restriction being enforced, raising questions about why Sans Souci learners are being singled out and whether restricting access for an entire group of pupils is a fair response to any problems that may have occurred at the station. CapeTalk speaks to a Sans Souci parent, who has asked to remain anonymous, about what her daughter experienced, what parents and learners have been told, and what she believes needs to happen next.
