According to a response from the Minister of Human Settlements Mmamoloko Kubayi to a question from the EFF’s Yazini Tetyana on the status of South Africa’s housing backlog, the minister replied that there isn’t a housing backlog based on a housing list as there is no longer a housing list, but that the housing backlog is determined by data obtained from the National Census.
