Lester Kiewit speaks to Professor Edgar Pieterse, a political scientist and founding director of the African Centre for Cities (ACC) at the University of Cape Town, to discuss how Mitchell’s Plain has become much more than just a geographical region on the map, but a place with deep political and emotional attachments for the many people who once lived there or continue to live there.
