The popularity and effectiveness of call-filtering apps such as Truecaller appear to have raised the hackles of marketing companies, who are now crying foul. An argument has been put forward that their personal and private information is being unfairly harvested by such apps and in violation of privacy laws. Lester Kiewit speaks to Hitesh Bhagat, Truecaller head of corporate communications, to find out whether there is merit to the argument.
