Keir Starmer’s Labour Government recently passed a bill which effectively banned the activist group Palestine Action, deeming it a terrorist organisation. Lord Peter Hain, who grew up in South Africa and was a staunch anti-Apartheid activist, broke ranks with his party and voted against the bill when it was passed by the House of Commons and came before the House of Lords. He speaks to Lester Kiewit about why he chose against it.
