Pastor Keith Bird was sentenced to 50 years in prison in 2019 after being convicted of murder, rape, crimen injuria, and theft. Now the Mitchells Plain man wants his freedom, after seven years behind bars because of his failing health. Lester Kiewit speaks to Joanie Fredericks who is rallying support, and trying to get victims and their families to make a strong case to the state, to keep Bird behind bars. He also speaks to Carlo Antha who was the investigating and arresting officer. He is currently a private investigator.
