LEAP Officer Brent Williams was on a routine patrol at Monwabisi Beach when he noticed a young boy in distress in the water. With no lifeguards on duty because it is out of season, Williams removed his tactical gear and ran into the water to help. Although he has no formal lifeguarding experience, his swimming ability, quick thinking and the assistance of members of the public helped bring the boy safely back to shore. Williams speaks to Lester Kiewit about the moments that led to the rescue and his decision to act.
