Landmark court ruling in Fidentia scandal

View descriptionShare

It has been 18 years since the Fidentia scandal came to light, and Arthur Brown became a household name as the man behind the multi-million rand fraud with widows and orphans as the unsuspecting victims. Now a court has ruled that Old Mutual Unit Trust Managers (Omut) is liable for R1.7billion in losses suffered by the victims. Refilwe Moloto speaks to Fraser Van der Watt, attorney and director at Knowles Husain Lindsay Inc., who represented the Living Hands Umbrella Trust - a group of victims seeking justice.
