Dutch King apologises for country’s role in slavery

The City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services has teamed up with the Shoprite Group and will be bringing some joy to 275 children who are currently housed at four care facilities. They will be dropping off Easter treats as well as personal care items, to help uplift some of the most vulnerable members of our greater community. Africa Melane speaks to  Sanjeev Raghubir,  Chief Sustainability Officer at the Shoprite Group.

Joe Studwell is the acclaimed author of “How Asia Works”, which revealed the key policies behind the meteoric growth of the “Asian tigers.” Backed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Omidyar Network, Studwell then shifted his focus towards Africa, paying particular attention to Botswana, Rwanda, Mauritius, and Ethiopia,and expected to find a different approach given the far-reaching impact of colonialism on the continent.
