Lester Kiewit speaks to Roscoe Williams, Read to Rise programme director and co-founder of the Cape Flats Book Festival, which will once again be taking place at West End Primary School in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, from 31 January to 1 February (2026). Roscoe and his brother Athol started the book festival in 2019 in a bid to improve literacy, especially within poorer parts of the community.
