If you feel that congestion in the City of Cape Town is made unbearable by the presence of freight trucks and other heavy vehicles such as cement mixers, the City of Cape Town is currently in the process of updating its Freight Management Strategy to ensure that the movement of goods across the city remains safe, efficient and reliable, while also maintaining accessibility for all road users. The deadline for members of the public as well as interested stakeholders and organisation to submit comments on the draft strategy is 31 March 2026. Lester Kiewit speaks to Keresha Naidoo, the City’s Manager for Integrated Transport Planning.
