Zimbabwe's lecturers union threated to escalate strike to 14 state universities

The Zimbabwe Association of University Teachers (AUT), has threatened to escalate industrial action to all 14 state universities if the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and government continues to ignore their grievances regarding poor wages. The lecturers staged their first job boycott on April 16, but police arrived and arrested three union leaders. They are demanding at least $2,500 US dollars per month for a junior lecturer - the same level as what they earned before October 2018.
