The Zimbabwean government says it will need a sponsor to fully clear its debt, even after successful negotiations for both domestic and foreign debt.
The country hosted its sixth High-Level Structured Dialogue Platform Forum on Arrears Clearance and Debt Resolution Process in the capital.
At the forum, stakeholders acknowledged that significant challenges remain.
Currently, under the guidance of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and advice from former Mozambican President Joaquim Chissano, Zimbabwe is working to clear domestic debt, including compensating white farmers who lost land.
