South Africa's Competition Appeals Court has dealt a major blow into the Competition Commission's rand manipulation case against four banks- both local and international. The banks have been accused of rigging trades involving the rand/dollar currencies.
The Appeals court dismissed the case on the grounds that there was lack of evidence and that the commission lacked jurisdiction, and was overreaching.
