In response to climate change impacts, including El Niño, UNICEF, alongside its donor partners, is deploying resilience-building strategies like cash transfers. These programs are helping vulnerable families in rural Zimbabwe recover. UNICEF particularly emphasises on the vulnerability of children who are more affected by decreased access to clean water, poor diet, malnutrition and diarrheal diseases. As such nutritional gardens, sustainable pipe water schemes, school feeding and cash transfers are some of the programmes that have helped vulnerable villagers in Mangwe District in Zimbabwe.
