Uganda is looking at increasing its revenue through the Gold exports, this after the East African country launched its first large-scale gold mine, a 250 million US dollars Chinese-owned project that includes facilities to refine bullion to 99.9% purity. This is part of an effort by Kampala to expand its mining industry and establish itself as a major gold producer. According to the country's central bank data, last year Uganda raised 3-point -4 billion dollars from gold exports, about 37% of the country's total export revenue.
