Uber Eats has released its 2025 South Africa Cravings Report, revealing what South Africans ate, ordered and loved this year. For the second year in a row, fried chicken was the country’s most searched-for food, followed by malva pudding.

The report did not only track food orders; it also highlighted record-breaking delivery statistics, high-spending super-users, quirky all-caps delivery notes, and even love letters tucked into grocery deliveries. China's Ambassador to South Africa, Wu Peng, says Beijing's zero-tariff policy for African exports is aimed at creating a mutually beneficial and sustainable trade relationship between China and the continent.

Speaking on Friday during a webinar reflecting on China's recently implemented zero-tariff policy on goods from African countries, Ambassador Wu Peng stressed that the initiative should not be viewed as charity, but rather as a strategic effort to deepen economic cooperation and balance trade relations.
