Uber Eats has released its 2025 South Africa Cravings Report, revealing what South Africans ate, ordered and loved this year. For the second year in a row, fried chicken was the country’s most searched-for food, followed by malva pudding.
The report did not only track food orders; it also highlighted record-breaking delivery statistics, high-spending super-users, quirky all-caps delivery notes, and even love letters tucked into grocery deliveries. Thami Ngubeni spoke to the General Manager for Uber Eats Sub-Saharan Africa, Ntsoaki Nsibanyoni.
