South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) this evening. The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has stressed that the address must outline clear strategies to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges, including a dangerously high unemployment rate of 42.4%, sluggish economic growth of just 1%, persistent poverty and inequality, and widespread crime and corruption.
Thami Ngubeni spoke to COSATU Spokesperson Zanele Sabela.
