Thousands of South African Non-Profit Organisations have been deregistered for their failure to honour an obligation of submitting their annual reports as per the provisions of the Non-Profit Organisations Act.

The Department of Social Development says it has issued more than 41 thousand notices of non-compliance to NPOs. It says of this number more than 6 thousand NPOs have been deregistered for failure to honour their obligations in terms of the NPO Act.

However, he warns that prices are rising due to fears of global supply disruptions as the conflict continues to unsettle international commodity markets.
