The United States has announced a 50 million US dollar cut in health aid to Zambia, citing the government's failure to curb the systematic theft of donated medical supplies. US Ambassador Michael Gonzales said the decision, though difficult, comes after a year-long investigation revealed widespread diversion of life-saving drugs intended for public distribution, with over 2,000 pharmacies found selling stolen products.
