The Manufacturing Indaba 2025 Conference and Exhibition is currently underway in Johannesburg, South Africa. The annual event is dedicated to driving Africa's reindustrialisation by fostering local manufacturing, connecting leaders, and empowering businesses to grow and create jobs. Among the countries that are present at the Indaba is Zambia, which has recently signed a Joint Venture with one of Indian's largest pharmaceutical companies, Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited, to set up a manufacturing plant and start the production of about 150 drugs locally.
