The cities of Johannesburg and Tshwane in South Africa are currently launching the 8th cycle of the Urban 20 (U20) under the theme "Cities Leading the Way in Reimagining Global Change, a key global initiative that shapes urban priorities for the G20 Summit and other international policy forums. This marks the first time African cities are at the helm of the prestigious U20 process, highlighting the continent's growing influence in global urban governance.
