The 2025 edition of the Africa CEO Forum will see over 2000 CEOS, investors and public sector leaders from over 75 countries gather in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from  May 12 to 13. The forum is taking place on the economic backdrop marked by rising protectionism, reduced development aid and high debt-serving costs. This year, the discussion will focus on enhancing governance, refining public policies, and accelerating the African Continental Free Trade Area (Afcfta). Wandile Sihlobo, Presidential Envoy on Agriculture and Land and Chief Economist at the Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa (Agbiz), says the country does not currently face immediate fertiliser supply constraints. However, he warns that prices are rising due to fears of global supply disruptions as the conflict continues to unsettle international commodity markets.
