Standard Bank Angola has obtained approval to open a correspondent account with J.P. Morgan, the biggest bank in the world by market capitalisation. The bank is the first Angolan bank to obtain authorization, marking the re-entry of J.P. Morgan into the national financial system. Standard Bank says its partnership with the American multinational bank will improve access to global currencies and enable more efficient cross-border settlements, while enhancing the competitiveness of companies operating in and with the southwestern African country.
