South Africa's electricity parastatal, Eskom is enforcing stricter regulations on grid-tied solar power systems.
The power utility says all grid-tied solar power systems connected to its network that are not registered with it are illegal even if they are not feeding electricity back into the grid.
It comes as the power utility and municipalities ramp up efforts to enforce stricter controls on solar systems connected to the grid.
