South Africa’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau, has signed a landmark China–Africa agreement that grants South Africa duty‑free access to the Chinese market. The deal is expected to significantly enhance the competitiveness of South African exports, as the country intensifies efforts to diversify its export destinations and promote trade‑led economic growth.
