SMES advised to consider solar power as backup power during load shedding

South Africa's power utility Eskom has announced that Stage 2 will be implemented from this evening, running through to Thursday. In light of frequent power outages in the country, how can Small and Medium-sized Enterprises  (SMES) ensure they keep the lights on? Most businesses will opt for generators, solar battery backup systems, and inverters, but with growing concern for the environment and the need for sustainable energy sources, solar energy has emerged as a popular choice. Thami Ngubeni spoke to Lionel Frost, sales manager at the National Energy Solutions.
