South Africa's (SA) retail sector continued to show strength in May, with sales rising by 4.2% year-on-year. Six out of the seven retail categories recorded positive growth, with textiles, clothing, and general dealers leading the way.
Textiles and clothing sales surged by 12.5%, while general dealers saw a 3.6% year-on-year increase.
Together, these two segments contributed 3.7 percentage points to the overall growth. Channel Africa business reporter Innocent Semosa has more.
