South Africa's Border Management Authority (BMA) has suspended operations at Grobler's Bridge Port of entry with Botswana due to flooding after heavy rains. In a statement, the BMA says the water level has risen to a point where it has reached the offices and that the South African Revenue Service (SARS) customs warehouse is also at risk of being submerged. The route is a key crossing used by copper mines in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo to access South Africa's Durban port. For more on this Thami Ngubeni spoke to Peter Mpilo, Regional Commander for the Northern Region which includes Grobler's bridge port of entry and Beitbridge border.
