South Africa's (SA) Department of Transport is looking at establishing a Private Sector Participation (PSP) unit, that will facilitate a Public/Private partnership with Transnet and the Passenger Rail Agency of SA.
Transport Minister, Barbara Creecy says this move comes after the department well as Transnet, received numerous unsolicited proposals from the private sector, offering investment, skills and expertise to support the reform of South Africa's struggling rail and port systems.
