At the recent Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom's symposium, South Africa's Minister of International Relations (DIRCO), Ronald Lamola, addressed key issues shaping the country's role in global trade and geopolitics amid its G20 presidency. Speaking on the ongoing 30% tariff dispute, Lamola assured that South Africa remains actively engaged in negotiations despite the unpredictable global trade environment. He emphasized the need for economic diversification, strengthening partnerships with the European Union, China, and Middle Eastern markets, and leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a critical platform for sustainable growth.
