South Africa's new Employment Equity Regulations have introduced significant changes to South African businesses, particularly for those with 50 or more employees or organs of state. The 2025 Employment Equity Act (EEA) Regulations significantly raise the bar for compliance, introducing stricter enforcement mechanisms and placing a sharp focus on sector-specific numerical targets such as the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment ( B-BBEE ) that must be met over five years.
