Residents of Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub, are facing mounting pressure as fuel prices continue to surge, driven by ongoing tensions in the Middle East that are disrupting global oil supply and raising the cost of living.

At filling stations across the city, petrol prices climbed above 1 000 Naira per litre on Monday, following another increase late last week. Many Nigerians fear the hike will put further strain on household budgets and daily commuting costs.
