At filling stations across the city, petrol prices climbed above 1 000 Naira per litre on Monday, following another increase late last week. Many Nigerians fear the hike will put further strain on household budgets and daily commuting costs.

Kenya Airways says there is an increase in demand for seats on its flights ​due to the effects of war ‌in the Middle East, with most of the traffic coming from Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

The airline says demand for seats on its flights, known as load factor, was now almost ​at 100% from around 70% in January. It also indicated that it has about 56 days of jet fuel supply and is making ⁠efforts ​to obtain more from India.

The U.S.-Israeli war ​on Iran has created chaos in the global ​aviation industry, prompting some airlines to raise ⁠fares and change their schedules to reduce ​stops at airports in the Middle East, or ​to cancel flights altogether.
