Pro Palestinian campus encampment held at SA’s Wits University

View descriptionShare

Over the past few weeks the world has been witness student led demonstrations in solidarity with Palestinians under Israeli siege in Gaza. These demonstrations started on the 17th of April at Columbia University in the City of New York, where students set up an encampment at the university. This was on the day the University's president Minouche Shafik was called before US Congress for questioning, following criticism from the Republicans that they were not doing enough at the University to address Anti-Semitism. The protests have spread across university campuses in the United States, and different parts of the world, including South Africa. Channel Africa's Joey Legodi filed this report
