"PAP budget allocation of 650,000 US dollars falls short of addressing the institution's financial needs,"  Pan African Parliament MPs

The Pan African Parliament Budget for the years 2025 and 2026 was under the spotlight during a debate at a session held earlier today in Johannesburg, South Africa.  The Committee on Monetary and Financial Affairs broke down how the institution spends the African Union (AU) budget. The parliament received 650 000 US dollar budget allocation from the African Union Executive Council. The debate heard that while the approved allocation falls short of addressing all of PAP's financial needs, it marks a significant shift in AU sentiment toward the role and relevance of the continental legislature. Newly sworn-in Ghanaian member of parliament Frank Amnnoh Domprah says the report on the budget was impressive
