Debbie Mavis, Director at Avanti Communications (Avanti), a leading global provider of fully integrated connectivity services and solutions, is visiting South Africa to discuss the non-traditional routes into STEM careers that could alleviate the increasing unemployment rate in South Africa. Avanti has growing offices in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.

The space sector in Africa has experienced strong development. While the AU formation of the African Space Agency (AfSA) slowly continues, many countries have started national space programmes. South Africa is in the lead, with Egypt, Algeria, and Nigeria close behind, guiding the growth. Mavis spoke to Thami Ngubeni.
