South Africa's Nedbank Group has reached an agreement to sell its 21.2% shareholding in pan-African lender Ecobank for $100 million to the private investment vehicle of financier Alain Nkontchou, Bosquet Investments Limited.
In a statement, Nedbank says this sale marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the bank's journey with the Togo-based Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) in advancing its pan-African mandate.
