More than 20,000 workers at Transnet, South Africa's rail, port and pipeline company, could down tools, this after the United National Transport Union (UNTU) declared a deadlock in talks for the 2025/2026 financial year, rejecting Transnet's latest wage offer of 6%. The looming strike potential collapse the country's economy and the logistics sector. The last strike by unions in the sector was estimated to have cost mining companies about 43 million dollars a day.
