South Africa's Department of Tourism together with the North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism, and South African Tourism have officially launched Tourism Month in the North West Province.

The North West Province is the host province for Tourism Month, which falls in September with World Tourism Day celebrations taking place on the 27th of September. This year the UNWTO's theme for World Tourism Day is "Green Tourism and Investment."

Launch of North West tourism month in South Africa

The Icebolethu Foundation has, over the past seven years, actively empowered Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through targeted initiatives, including its signature eKasi Business Fair and Supplier Development Programme. These programmes aim to integrate township and rural businesses into the broader economy by offering access to markets, mentorship and funding opportunities.


Most recently, the Icebolethu Foundation launched a new initiative in partnership with public‑ and private‑sector companies to help SMMEs scale their operations and drive job creation.
