Police in Kenya used tear gas to disperse protesters who attempted to occupy a church that recently received a significant donation from President William Ruto.
The Jesus Winner Ministry in the Roysambu suburb of Nairobi was given 155 thousand US dollars, a gift that sparked criticism from some young Kenyans grappling with the high cost of living. Ruto has defended his donation and has also pledged a similar contribution to another church in Eldoret.
