Job losses in South Africa's sugar industry are threatening the livelihoods of small-scale growers. This is according to independent and industry data which says the impact is due to the so-called sugar tax. Meanwhile, the South African Medical Research Council and Wits Centre for Health Economics and Decision Science have refuted the data.
