Many Black entrepreneurs continue to face major hurdles when it comes to accessing funding-challenges such as lack of collateral, limited credit history, and systemic bias within financial institutions. In some cases, poor digital and physical infrastructure also hampers business operations, limiting their ability to grow. Speaking at the Black Business Indaba in Johannesburg, South Africa, socio-economic commentator Mthunzi Mdwaba highlighted the crucial role of Black-owned businesses as key drivers of employment-particularly for young people and women.
