The latest SA-TIED dialogue was heated as delegates debated about the cost of decarbonising South Africa's economy currently heavily dependent on coal as base load. Hosted by Wits University, the dialogue brought together thought leaders to look at how the recent bouts of load shedding affecting the domestic economy's trajectory and how to prevent the same from happening in future. However, the discussions quickly moved to the costs involved in decarbonising. Dimakatso Leshoro filed this reporter.
