The G20 Agricultural Working Group and Food Security Task Force has adopted a Food Security Task Force Declaration that is centred on the African philosophy of Ubuntu. South Africa's Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuise, says the G20 Ministers have recognised that food security hinges on interdependence, dignity, agency, and solidarity. Steenhuisen says the Ministerial Declaration reaffirms the G20 members' commitment to multilateralism, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which also recognises that the right to food is a fundamental human right. To unpack the G20 Food Security Task Force Declaration, we are joined on the line by the Deputy Director-General of Economic Development, Trade and Marketing, Kwena Komape.
