FlySafair cancel some flights as pilots go on strike

Low-cost airline based in Johannesburg, South Africa, FlySafair today had to cancel some flights amid the ongoing pilots' strike over wages and scheduling. Last week, trade union Solidarity announced that its members would launch strike action this week after it rejected a 5.7% increase in salaries. Despite the union giving FlySafair a one-day notice of strike, the airline hit back with a notice that it would lock out the pilots for seven days, which could extend to another seven days.
